Role Summary

Senior Compiler Engineer on the Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA) Tools team responsible for developing and extending the PVA compiler toolchain and SDK. The role focuses on building production-quality compiler features, improving compilation workflows for vision and deep-learning workloads, and collaborating with application teams and platform engineers.

Expect hands-on design and implementation of compiler internals, front-ends, and optimizers to support domain-specific languages such as Python and CUDA.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of experience developing production-quality compilers and tools (the posting specifies 8+ years).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, implementation, and cross-team collaboration to advance the PVA compiler and SDK.

  • Design and implement new compiler features and SDK capabilities for the PVA platform.
  • Collaborate with application and platform teams to solve compilation and performance challenges for vision and DL workloads.
  • Develop and maintain compiler front-ends, optimizers, and toolchain components.
  • Integrate existing technologies and libraries into the compiler development process.
  • Drive support and tooling for Python, CUDA, and other domain-specific languages used on PVA.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for this role.

  • 8+ years developing production-quality compilers and compiler tools.
  • Deep understanding of compiler internals, front-ends, intermediate representations, and optimizers.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of parallel computer architectures and performance optimizations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with LLVM and MLIR.
  • Familiarity with CUDA and GPU programming.
  • Experience with deep learning networks and compilers for DL workloads.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field is listed; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience.
