Senior Compiler Engineer
Efficient ComputerJob Title
Senior Compiler Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Compiler Engineer will design and implement compiler features and tooling to compile embedded ML and TinyML applications for Efficient's energy-efficient processor. The role focuses on improving runtime efficiency and programmability by extending the compiler toolchain and integrating with ML frameworks, while collaborating closely with hardware and application teams.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 6+ years of professional C++ development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement compiler features to improve hardware efficiency (dataflow ISA support, memory analysis and ordering, hardware timing and power constraints).
- Map applications onto the hardware fabric (place-and-route) and develop visualization and programmer debugging tools.
- Integrate with machine-learning frameworks to compile models for the custom processor.
- Write unit and integration tests to find functional and performance regressions.
- Debug and fix functional and performance issues in the compiler system.
- Collaborate with hardware, physical design, and application teams to inform architecture and propose improvements.
- Deliver optimized compiler solutions that meet performance and power targets.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 6+ years of professional experience programming in C++.
- Familiarity with compiler frameworks such as GCC, LLVM, and/or MLIR.
- Understanding of computer architecture and optimization techniques.
- Experience using industry-standard development and debugging tools, including GDB.
- Proven problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and effective communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with FPGA compilation and/or place-and-route algorithms.
- Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
