Job Title

Senior CMP Process Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) Process Engineer will start up, develop and optimize CMP processes for DRAM manufacturing to improve yield, defectivity, cost and productivity. This role works on production ramp and process development in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with equipment, integration and yield teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement robust process controls.

Experience Level

Senior. Minimum: 2+ years industry experience working as a Process Owner within CMP.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on CMP process development, production startup, and continuous improvement to meet yield and productivity targets.

  • Develop, optimize and document CMP processes for DRAM production and startup.
  • Identify and resolve process issues impacting product quality and production yield.
  • Collaborate with equipment and integration engineers to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage projects to close yield, defectivity, production and cost gaps; meet project milestones.
  • Drive improvements across owned SPC (statistical process control) charts and control plans.
  • Support risk management and continuous improvement initiatives on the manufacturing line.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work requirements are listed below; preferred skills are noted separately.

  • Must-have: 2+ years of industry experience as a Process Owner within CMP.
  • Must-have: Hands-on CMP process area knowledge relevant to semiconductor fabrication.
  • Must-have: Experience with DRAM development and manufacturing processes.
  • Must-have: Ability to collaborate with equipment and integration teams to resolve production issues.
  • Must-have: Project management capability to drive and close process improvement milestones.
  • Must-have: Willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training.
  • Nice-to-have: Proficiency in data science and programming tools to analyze process data.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

BS or Master's degree in an engineering field preferred; equivalent military experience accepted. An AAS plus 5+ years industry experience is an alternative. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
