Job Title
Senior Circuit Methodology Engineer
Role Summary
Lead architect and developer of internal methodology tools that support mixed-signal projects, cell specification, and circuit deliverable tracking. The role works across circuit design, verification, VLSI, and CAD teams to integrate tools into multi-department flows and reduce tapeout cycle time.
The position owns tool design, maintenance, documentation, onboarding, and metrics; identifies opportunities to deploy AI/ML capabilities; and ensures tools improve design quality and traceability.
Experience Level
Senior. Target candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience in circuit design methodology, CAD/EDA development, or tooling for semiconductor design flows.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, delivering, and operationalizing internal methodology tools and integrations.
- Architect, prototype, and implement in-house tools for mixed-signal project tracking, cell specification, and circuit deliverables.
- Integrate tools into cross-department flows (circuit design, verification, VLSI, CAD) to streamline handoffs and shorten tapeout cycles.
- Collaborate with software development teams to deploy AI/ML capabilities in the tool ecosystem.
- Maintain and improve existing internal applications for robustness, maintainability, and alignment with evolving methodology needs.
- Establish and communicate tool usage guidelines, onboarding, documentation, training, and support processes.
- Add telemetry and metrics to measure adoption, usage, data quality, and impact on schedule and design quality.
- Ensure methodology tools improve mixed-signal build quality through better specifications, checks, and requirements traceability.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 5+ years' experience in circuit design methodology, CAD/EDA development, or internal tools engineering for semiconductor design flows.
- Practical understanding of mixed-signal or analog/RF design flows and the EDA ecosystem.
- Experience in process/flow engineering focused on reducing tapeout schedules and improving design quality (preferred).
- Exposure to AI algorithms/flows and experience integrating AI/ML into tools (strongly desired).
- Experience collaborating with software development teams and delivering production-grade tooling.
- Coding experience is a benefit (scripting, tool development, or software engineering practices).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSCE) or equivalent practical experience.
