Role Summary

Responsibilities

The engineer will design and implement custom circuit solutions across the silicon flow and mentor junior engineers.

• Design innovative circuits for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management in deep submicron technologies.
• Drive design and physical implementation of custom digital IP from RTL through layout using standard tools and custom flows.
• Perform transistor-level analysis and work to improve power, performance, area (PPA) and reliability across products.
• Develop prototypes on test chips and advance patentable ideas to product deployment.
• Execute transistor-level circuit design, schematic entry, and layout delivery; coordinate with backend teams for closure.
• Integrate AI/ML techniques into the design process and methodology.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior team members; participate in cross-functional design reviews.

• Must-have: Strong understanding of deep submicron process issues and digital circuit design techniques.
• Must-have: Hands-on experience running SPICE simulations, EM/IR analysis, and static timing analysis/closure.
• Must-have: Practical experience with layout-related checks (DRC, LVS) and familiarity with place-and-route tool flows.
• Must-have: Proven ability to perform transistor-level circuit design and schematic entry.
• Nice-to-have: Experience designing and analyzing low-power circuits (power gating, decoupling, multi-VT).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with RTL, logic synthesis, verification, and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Nice-to-have: Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Perl, Tcl, Make) to accelerate flows.
• Nice-to-have: Post-silicon characterization and debug experience; demonstrated ownership from concept through tape-out.

Education Requirements

Preferred BSEE or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies 3+ years of digital circuit design experience for candidates with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.
