Senior Chip Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Switch Silicon design team within NVIDIA Networking to design and implement high-performance, low-latency switch ASIC blocks. The role focuses on RTL design, verification planning, synthesis, timing closure, and post-silicon activities for core units.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 5+ years of RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
The role is engineering-focused and requires collaboration across architecture, verification, back-end and firmware teams.
- Develop RTL for core units/blocks according to architecture specifications while meeting power, area, and performance targets.
- Plan micro-architecture and RTL verification environments for units and modules.
- Perform RTL synthesis, timing analysis, and support verification activities through silicon bring-up.
- Coordinate with Architecture, u-arch, full-chip micro-architecture, back-end, and firmware teams to integrate designs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- 5+ years of hands-on RTL design experience.
- Experience with RTL verification planning and working in design/verification teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of network protocols, high-performance computing (HPC), or distributed computation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (B.Sc.) or equivalent practical experience; strong academic record preferred.
