Senior CAD Engineer (Digital)

Role Summary

Lead development and deployment of digital CAD (EDA) methodologies with emphasis on Design-for-Test and front-end digital flows. Collaborate with a global CAD methodology team to automate and centralize flows and provide technical consultation to product teams to enable successful SoC tapeouts.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and drive DFT methodologies and best practices for corporate digital flows using major EDA tool suites.
  • Automate and integrate CAD flows for centralized deployment with the global methodology team.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation on DFT and front-end EDA flows to Analog Devices business units to support successful tapeouts.
  • Debug vendor EDA tool issues and work with designers and vendors to resolve flow problems.
  • Create and maintain documentation and automation scripts to support CAD solutions.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

  • Must-have: Strong experience developing CAD solutions for DFT and synthesis using Siemens, Cadence, or Synopsys tool suites.
  • Proven experience with digital implementation flows (RTL to GDSII) and participation in multi-million gate SoC tapeouts at advanced nanometer / FinFET process nodes.
  • Familiarity with Cadence synthesis and formal equivalence checking tools (Genus, Conformal).
  • Proficiency in automation using TCL, Python, Perl and Tk.
  • Ability to diagnose and debug EDA tool problems and interact effectively with designers and vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with distributed teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 10%.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience deploying corporate-wide CAD methodologies and broader exposure to Siemens EDA flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Micro-Electronics.
