Senior Board Test Engineer
Role Summary
Work in NVIDIA's Test Solutions Group to develop manufacturing test solutions for GPU and CPU data center products, covering hardware and software test strategies, fixtures, diagnostics, and automation.
Collaborate with hardware design, software, and quality teams to improve test coverage, diagnostic automation, and production efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior-level role; typically requires 5+ years of post-silicon validation or board/system test experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining manufacturing test methodologies, developing test content and automation, and debugging hardware and software issues at manufacturing sites.
- Define manufacturing test solutions and processes applicable across board and system product segments.
- Develop test strategies for new product features; identify, specify, design, and qualify test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Develop and maintain test content and automation using Python (and bash as needed).
- Collaborate with HW design, software, and quality teams to expand GPU and CPU testing coverage.
- Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technologies and methodologies to improve production efficiency.
- Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
- Review and provide feedback on DFT during early design stages.
- Debug complex hardware and software issues at manufacturing locations (US, Mexico, Taiwan); travel as required.
Requirements
Required technical skills and demonstrable experience.
- 5+ years of post-silicon validation experience with board or system products.
- Experience with manufacturing test programs at the platform level.
- Proficient in Python programming and comfortable with bash scripting.
- Experience with a variety of board or system level products.
- Solid knowledge of IPMI, PCIe, BMC, and thermal solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Willingness and ability to travel; travel may exceed 30% for certain projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
