Job Title

Senior Board Design Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

Technical leader in NVIDIA's Hardware Switch Group (Israel) responsible for system and board design of high-performance networking switches. Lead products from architecture and concept definition through detailed design, validation, qualification, and mass production while coordinating cross-disciplinary teams and managing portfolio-level technical alignment.

Experience Level

Senior-level - typically 10+ years of experience in complex board design and hardware-system development.

Responsibilities

Lead technical efforts and deliver hardware products across the full lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead system and board designs from concept through qualification, production ramp, and mass production; act as the technical focal point and decision-maker.
  • Maintain a portfolio-level perspective to identify cross-project risks, dependencies, and reuse opportunities.
  • Define product, system, and board-level requirements, architectures, interfaces, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Own detailed electrical design: schematics, component selection, power architecture, connectivity, and CPLD/FPGA considerations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration across mechanics, thermal, SI/PI, PCB layout, firmware/RTL, validation, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Review complex multilayer PCB layouts to ensure signal/power integrity, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and performance.
  • Perform hands-on board bring-up, integration, validation, debugging, and lead root-cause investigations using lab equipment.
  • Drive qualification, NPI, production-line stabilization, and mass-production support and apply lessons learned across projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in complex board design and hardware-system development across the complete product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to maintain a system-level and portfolio-level perspective while driving execution of detailed hardware designs.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects, technical reviews, architecture decisions, and complex problem-solving.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical schematics, component selection, advanced multilayer PCB design, and layout implementation.
  • Strong experience with high-current power-delivery design and a comprehensive understanding of CPLD/FPGA and RTL implementations.
  • Strong hands-on laboratory skills for board bring-up, system integration, validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Independent and proactive leadership with strong project-management, communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing data-center switches or other high-performance networking systems and taking hardware products to high-volume manufacturing.
  • High-speed design experience with interfaces operating at 25 Gb/s and above.
  • Experience defining reusable architectures and driving alignment across multiple products.
  • Experience working with ODMs, contract manufacturers, silicon vendors, and component suppliers.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant practical experience.
