Job Title

Senior ATE Test Engineer

Role Summary

Lead development and ownership of CP/FT test solutions, NPI bring-up, and high-volume manufacturing support for analog and mixed-signal IC products. The role covers test architecture, ATE software and hardware, yield and quality performance, and test cost optimization across the product lifecycle.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires practical ATE test development experience; posting specifies 3+ years of ATE test development experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test strategy, ATE program development, hardware supplier engagement, production support, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Define and own CP/FT test strategies balancing coverage, quality, test time, and cost.
  • Develop, debug, and optimize ATE test programs on mainstream platforms (Teradyne ETS, Teradyne UltraFLEX, SPEA, NI STS).
  • Establish test methodologies for precision analog, ADC/DAC, DSP, and power-management ICs.
  • Lead or review ATE hardware solutions (load boards, probe cards) and manage supplier technical reviews for robustness and manufacturability.
  • Drive NPI test bring-up and ensure smooth transition to volume manufacturing; support characterization and reliability tests.
  • Monitor production data to identify yield degradation, test escapes, and correlation issues; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Optimize test time, hardware cost, and test limits; participate in cost-down initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, Packaging, and Quality teams; provide early test feasibility and risk assessments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and maintain clear, structured test documentation and reusable test flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and responsibilities for the role. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • Minimum 3+ years ATE test development experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major ATE platform: Teradyne ETS, Teradyne UltraFLEX, SPEA, or NI STS (PXI-based).
  • Strong understanding of precision analog measurement, ADC/DAC testing, and power-management IC test principles.
  • Proficiency in test development languages such as C, C++, or VB; ability to design structured, scalable test software.
  • Proven track record of ownership in resolving yield, quality, or test-coverage issues in production.
  • Experience with NPI bring-up, production monitoring, and driving corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel for work (required travel ~10%).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in ATE test hardware design (especially load boards) and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with Cadence or other EDA tools, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and Failure Analysis (FA).
  • Experience acting as a technical lead and mentoring engineers; strong English technical communication skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, Integrated Circuits, Automation, or a related discipline. (Education specified in the posting.)
