Job Title

Senior ATE Equipment Engineer

Role Summary

Provide deep technical support for ATE equipment during new product introduction (NPI) and production. Lead equipment installation, qualification, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance strategies to ensure test reliability, operational efficiency, and cost control.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, external developers and OEMs to resolve test and equipment issues, maintain ISO-quality documentation, and train lab users and technicians.

Experience Level

Senior. Preferred experience guidance from the posting: typically 4+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a diploma.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of ATE equipment lifecycle on the test floor and driving technical resolutions:

  • Oversee NPI equipment installation, qualification, conversion and commissioning on the test floor.
  • Develop maintenance strategies and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Troubleshoot equipment and test failures; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide in-depth technical assistance and resolution for engineering problems encountered pre- and post-deployment.
  • Collaborate with developers, OEMs and cross-functional teams to identify and solve development issues affecting test results and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain test equipment documentation to meet ISO/quality requirements.
  • Deliver equipment training to lab engineers and cultivate technical proficiency in lab technicians.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes:

  • Practical experience with semiconductor testing and IC technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical skills, and ability to perform root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with ATE testers (Advantest or equivalent) and familiarity with handlers (Cohu, Hontech) is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to work independently, lead technical activities, and drive results with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and training.
  • Experience creating and maintaining equipment qualification and ISO/quality documentation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred with >4 years relevant experience); or a diploma in an engineering discipline (preferred with >6 years relevant experience).
