Job Title

Senior ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Verify architecture, micro-architecture and implementation of ASIC subsystems for NVIDIA’s SoC and GPU products, with a focus on memory and firmware/hardware interactions. Join a cross-functional GPU ASIC verification team working across sites to ensure correctness, performance, and quality of silicon used in graphics, AI, and autonomous products.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of verification or related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining verification scope, building verification infrastructure, and validating hardware/firmware interactions.

  • Define verification plans and scope for memory subsystem and related units.
  • Develop reusable verification components and infrastructure.
  • Verify firmware and hardware/firmware interactions for embedded controllers and microcontrollers.
  • Apply advanced verification methodologies: constrained/random stimulus, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, firmware and software engineers across sites to resolve issues and close verification goals.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required for successful performance in this role. Preferred items follow.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of ASIC verification experience using SystemVerilog and object-oriented verification techniques.
  • Must-have: Experience with verification methodologies and creating reusable verification components (UVM or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Experience with random/constrained stimulus, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification.
  • Must-have: Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent, debug tools such as Debussy) and basic use of native debuggers (e.g., GDB) for firmware debugging.
  • Must-have: Strong debugging skills, problem solving, and clear communication.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior verification experience with high-speed I/O protocols or memory coherence.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience debugging embedded firmware in C or RISC-V assembly and familiarity with RISC-V architecture or embedded microcontrollers.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience writing verification plans and verification automation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
