Job Title

Senior ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for planning and executing ASIC verification for SoC and GPU projects, focusing on backbone IP for ARM-based SoCs. Work with architects, designers, and pre-/post-silicon teams to ensure design correctness and first-pass silicon success.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role expects 5+ years of ASIC verification experience at the IP and SoC level.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification planning, testbench development, and cross-team collaboration to achieve coverage and silicon quality.

  • Lead verification of ASIC design, architecture, golden models, and micro-architecture using methodologies such as UVM.
  • Define verification scope and develop verification infrastructure and robust testbenches to validate complex logic.
  • Create and execute test plans to drive coverage closure, including constrained-random tests and corner-case exploration.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and pre-/post-silicon validation teams to triage and resolve issues.
  • Develop golden models and hardware-software co-verification tests in C/C++.
  • Introduce AI/LLM-driven workflows to improve test generation, debugging productivity, and coverage closure.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and production experience required for successful performance in this role.

  • 5+ years of ASIC verification experience at IP and SoC levels.
  • Proven experience building UVM testbenches and applying constrained-random methodology in production.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for architectural models and co-verification tests.
  • Domain knowledge of Low-Speed IOs (QSPI, UART, I2C), High-Speed IOs (Ethernet), AXI/APB interconnects, DMA controllers, and memory controllers.
  • Expertise in assertion-based checks (SVA), code and functional coverage, and formal test plan documentation.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills for resolving SoC-level corner cases.
  • Scripting ability in Python, Perl, or TCL to automate builds and regressions.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with large-scale SoC verification, Testbench build flows and makefiles, version control (Perforce), and prior use of AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degrees (MS, PhD) are a plus. Equivalent experience language is accepted.
