Job Title
Senior ASIC Product Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) for ASIC memory-controller products, acting as the cross-functional link between design, test, manufacturing, and product teams. The role covers qualification, test strategy, yield optimization, customer RMA support, and manufacturing ramp.
Work includes NPI planning and execution, production ramp oversight, failure analysis, and integration of data-driven and AI/ML methods into test and manufacturing workflows.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting specifies a senior-level role; years of experience were not listed.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities span NPI, HVM, qualification, and data-driven test/analysis.
- Lead NPI activities: validate design for testability and manufacturability, develop and execute test and validation plans, and support tape-out to production transition.
- Manage ASIC qualification activities including HTOL and ELFR.
- Drive production ramp-up, monitor yield and quality, and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
- Oversee internal and external customer RMA triage and lot disposition.
- Coordinate with foundries, assembly, and ATE/test partners to resolve defects and improve processes.
- Implement process improvements and continuous-improvement initiatives to enhance yield and reduce defects.
- Develop and optimize ATE test development, debug, and coverage strategies.
- Apply data-driven and AI/ML techniques to accelerate NPI ramp, failure analysis, test optimization (TTR, coverage), and cycle-time reduction.
- Collaborate across design, test, manufacturing, and product teams to integrate AI tools and agentic workflows into development and production processes.
Requirements
Core skills and domain experience expected for successful performance in this role.
-
Must-have: Practical ASIC product engineering experience in NPI and HVM; hands-on knowledge of ATE/test development, failure analysis, and yield monitoring.
-
Must-have: Experience working with foundries, assembly/test partners, and cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing and test issues.
-
Must-have: Experience applying data analysis methods to drive test optimization, yield improvement, and RMA triage.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with memory controller ASICs and ASIC qualification (HTOL, ELFR).
-
Nice-to-have: Prior use of AI/ML or agentic workflows to accelerate test development, yield analysis, or manufacturing decisioning.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with high-volume manufacturing partners and production ramp activities.
