Senior ASIC Design Engineer - XBAR IP
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Graphics team to design memory-subsystem components used in GPUs. The role owns micro-architecture, RTL implementation, and delivery of synthesis- and timing-clean designs while coordinating with architects, verification, synthesis/timing, backend, FPGA and software teams.
Work impacts product lines across consumer graphics, autonomous systems, and AI platforms.
Experience Level
Senior β 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define micro-architecture and develop RTL for design modules.
- Make architectural trade-offs to meet performance, power, and area targets.
- Collaborate with hardware architects on feature definition.
- Work with verification teams to ensure correctness of implementations.
- Coordinate with timing, VLSI and physical design teams to meet timing, interface and routability requirements.
- Integrate with FPGA and software teams to prototype and validate designs.
- Support post-silicon bring-up, verification and debug.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience with RTL design of complex units across multiple projects.
- Strong expertise in Verilog.
- Familiarity with design and verification tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulation tools, debug tools).
- Deep understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, DFT, timing analysis, floor-planning, ECO, bring-up and lab debug.
Nice-to-have:
- Design experience in memory subsystem or network interconnect IP.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell).
- Leadership experience leading small teams.
- Strong debugging, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree, or equivalent practical experience (as stated in the posting).
