Senior ASIC Design Engineer β€” NoC & AXI Interconnect

Role Summary

Work on ASIC design for high-performance network chips (AINIC, DPU) within AMD's NTSG ASIC Design Team. The role focuses on NoC design, AXI/ACE/APB interface implementation and verification, and cross-team collaboration to achieve first-pass silicon success.

Responsibilities

Primary technical and cross-functional responsibilities include:

  • Design RTL for Network-on-Chip (NoC) components and integrate them into SoC designs.
  • Design and verify AXI, ACE, and APB interfaces.
  • Implement queuing systems and buffer-management logic.
  • Collaborate with architecture, IP, physical design, and product teams to ensure first-pass silicon success.
  • Provide post-silicon bring-up support and participate in yield-learning activities.
  • Participate in team design reviews and design-for-test/yield tasks as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools:

  • Understanding of NoC architecture and protocols.
  • Experience designing and verifying AXI, ACE, and APB interfaces.
  • Knowledge of queuing-system design and buffer management.
  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog/Verilog RTL design.
  • Proficiency with VCS simulation tools.
  • Experience with scripting (Perl, Python, or Shell).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
