Role Summary

Senior ASIC Design Engineer in the Networking Silicon group at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, focused on developing advanced networking ASICs for routers and switches. The role is primarily onsite in an HPE office and emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with physical design and verification teams.

The position is responsible for translating functional specifications into micro-architecture and RTL that meet power, area, and timing targets, and for mentoring junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of relevant ASIC/RTL design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include architecture translation, RTL implementation, and cross-team coordination to meet performance targets.

• Develop micro-architecture specifications from functional specifications, optimizing for power and area.
• Implement RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Write functional coverage and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) to support verification and catch corner cases.
• Collaborate with Physical Design to create optimal floorplans and address timing closure; identify and fix timing issues in RTL to meet frequency targets.
• Work with Verification to ensure full validation of design blocks.
• Mentor and guide new engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education Requirements
