Job Title
Senior ASIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver RTL, micro-architecture, and verification for high-performance, area- and power-efficient ASICs/SoCs and GPUs. Work on architecture, RTL design and synthesis, logic and timing verification, and verification infrastructure while collaborating with cross-site ASIC development teams.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of relevant ASIC/VLSI design and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL implementation, verification, and cross-team collaboration to meet design targets.
- Document, implement, and deliver fully verified RTL meeting performance, area, and power targets.
- Define and implement architecture and micro-architecture for ASIC blocks.
- Perform RTL design, synthesis, and logic and timing verification using CAD tools and semiconductor process flows.
- Participate in verification planning, define verification scope, and develop verification infrastructure.
- Create and maintain testbench environments; execute unit and system-level verification.
- Use simulation and debug tools to isolate and resolve functional and timing issues.
- Communicate and coordinate design and verification activities with on-site and remote teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items noted.
- 5+ years of relevant ASIC/VLSI design or verification experience.
- Proven hardware engineering background with emphasis on VLSI and computer architecture.
- Expertise in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or similar HDLs.
- Proficient scripting in Python, Perl, or similar languages.
- Experience with logic synthesis and timing analysis.
- Familiarity with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi) and debuggers such as GDB.
- Experience building testbench environments; verification using random stimulus, functional coverage, and assertion-based methods is a strong plus.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and interpersonal skills; able to work with distributed teams.
- Embedded processor experience is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
