Senior Applications Engineering Consultant - Emulation
Role Summary
Provide technical sales and deployment support for Siemens emulation and prototyping products (Veloce Strato) to customers in the Americas. Work closely with sales, account teams and product groups to drive successful evaluations and long‑term customer relationships.
Customer-facing role focused on troubleshooting, demos, training, technical presentations, and feeding customer requirements back to product development.
Experience Level
Senior level; requires 7+ years' experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation/prototyping of electronic chips and systems or recent experience as an Applications Engineer in a relevant field.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include technical selling, deployments, and customer support.
- Support sales during product evaluations and ensure technical milestones are met.
- Deploy and validate Siemens Emulation (Veloce Strato) solutions for customers.
- Troubleshoot and remove technical obstacles during evaluations and deployments.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer training.
- Collaborate with sales management, account teams, product marketing and development to map customer requirements to solutions.
- Collect and communicate customer feedback and product ideas to improve emulation products.
- Build peer-level technical relationships with customers to ensure long-term satisfaction.
- Travel across North America as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.
- Hands-on experience with industry emulation solutions (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu).
- Strong ASIC/chip design or verification background; knowledge of SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL, RTL, behavioral coding and ASIC debug.
- Experience with simulation environments (Questa, Incisive, VCS) and verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
- Proficiency with scripting and automation (Python, Perl, Tcl, sed/awk, shell) and experience extending or integrating tools via scripting or APIs.
- Understanding of customer design flows and ability to map Siemens EDA solutions to optimize workflows.
- Ability to articulate cross-platform and cross-portfolio solutions and differentiate competitively based on technical value.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; proven ability to build customer relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Nice-to-have: C/C++/SystemC experience and knowledge of Transaction Level Modeling (TLM).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
