Senior Applications Engineer - Verification
Role Summary
Provide applications engineering and customer-facing verification support for Synopsys verification products. Work with customers and internal teams to integrate tools, reproduce and debug issues, deliver demonstrations, and enable successful adoption of verification flows.
Position is based in Hyderabad and will collaborate with R&D, sales, and services teams to resolve technical issues and drive product improvements.
Experience Level
Senior — typically suitable for candidates with multi-year professional experience in digital verification, ASIC/SoC verification flows, or EDA applications engineering (commonly 5+ years).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical customer support, tool integration, and knowledge transfer.
- Work directly with customers to integrate verification tools into their flows and reproduce/debug verification issues.
- Develop and deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and trainings for verification teams.
- Create example testbenches, scripts, and automation to accelerate customer deployments.
- Collaborate with R&D to triage bugs and provide product feedback based on customer engagements.
- Produce technical documentation, application notes, and best-practice guides.
- Occasional on-site visits to customer locations and participation in project planning with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; optional items listed as nice-to-have.
- Must-have: Strong experience in digital verification methodologies and hands-on use of SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Must-have: Proven debugging skills for simulation/testbench issues and experience with scripting (Python, TCL, or similar) for automation.
- Must-have: Practical experience with ASIC/SoC verification flows and familiarity with simulation and waveform-debugging tools.
- Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions and technical presentations.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Synopsys verification tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi) or equivalent EDA products.
- Nice-to-have: Background in emulation, FPGA prototyping, or formal verification.
- Nice-to-have: Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
