Senior Applications Engineer - Emulation
Role Summary
Support customer deployment and adoption of emulation and prototyping solutions, working with sales, R&D, and customers to ensure successful bring-up, debug, and ongoing value delivery.
The role is customer-facing within the Software/Sales organization and combines technical deployment, methodology development, training, and collaboration with product engineering.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests 5+ years of experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation, and prototyping of electronic chips and systems.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include on-site deployments, methodology development, pre-sales support, and customer education.
- Deploy emulation software and hardware solutions at customer sites and guide design bring-up.
- Develop and refine prototyping and emulation methodologies to maximize solution value.
- Support pre-sales technical engagements and collaborate with sales to define customer requirements and tool needs.
- Work with R&D to report issues, request product improvements, review specifications, and implement solutions.
- Train application engineers and customers; create and deliver live, recorded, and remote product demos and presentations.
- Debug RTL designs and simulation environments to resolve customer issues.
- Communicate product enhancements to customers and relay customer requirements to R&D and marketing.
- Travel domestically and internationally for customer meetings and coordination with other R&D sites.
Requirements
Technical skills and professional capabilities required or desirable for the role.

Must-have: RTL design and verification experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog, and/or VHDL; debug experience for RTL and simulation.

Must-have: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, shell scripts/Makefiles) and working with XML/JSON.

Must-have: Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills; ability to produce and deliver product demos.

Must-have: Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically.

Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation platforms (e.g., Veloce, Palladium, Zebu).

Nice-to-have: Verification experience with SystemC and/or C/C++; ASIC and/or FPGA implementation experience.

Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
