Senior Applications Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Applications Engineer will define and drive development of high-power/high-voltage analog ICs and modules for Automotive, Server Power, and Industrial markets. The role collaborates with design engineering, field applications, and marketing to develop prototypes, model EMI, validate reference circuits, and produce technical documentation and training.

This is an onsite role based in San Jose focusing on product definition, prototype bring-up, application support, and technical communications.

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include product definition, EMI modeling, prototype validation, documentation, and customer support.

  • Define analog IC and module product requirements for high-power, isolated, and wide-bandgap solutions.
  • Model electromagnetic interference (EMI) and develop EMI-reduction techniques.
  • Develop and debug reference circuits and IC prototypes; support hardware bring-up and lab characterization.
  • Provide applications support to customers and field teams on total high-power subsystem solutions.
  • Write datasheets, application notes, design notes, and technical papers; deliver technical training and presentations.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in automotive switch-mode power supply design and EMI modeling.
  • Experience supporting or defining high-power ICs and related subsystem solutions (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude and ability to collaborate across engineering and field teams.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher required. Equivalent technical degrees or equivalent practical experience may be considered.
