Senior Application Engineer - Tessent Design for Test (DFT)

Role Summary

Work with sales and field technical teams to lead and implement technical engagements that support sales campaigns for Tessent DFT products. Focus areas include customer adoption, methodology and flow development, integration into customer environments, and providing technical leadership for assigned accounts.

Experience Level

Senior-level; 8–12 years of experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or related role.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve driving technical adoption, supporting customers, and enabling the sales organization.

• Create methodologies and flows and integrate tools into customer environments; identify and support pilot projects.
• Assist with tool bring-up, debugging, and deployment of new methodologies.
• Develop and maintain technical relationships across customer organizations to assess requirements.
• Qualify technical viability of opportunities and collaborate with sales on technical strategies.
• Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technology information with peers, sales, management, and product teams.
• Provide technical leadership and act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demos, and workshops to customers and internal stakeholders.

Must-have

• Digital design experience and RTL coding in Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Proven Design for Test (DFT) experience for ASIC design.
• Proficiency with TCL scripting and programming concepts.
• Simulation and verification expertise relevant to ASIC flows.
• Project management experience and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, influencing, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and customer technical teams.
• Position will operate in a hybrid model based in San Diego.
• This role is subject to U.S. export controls (ITAR/EAR); must be a U.S. Person or able to obtain required export authorization.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Siemens Tessent DFT products.
• Diagnosis-driven yield analysis experience.
• Familiarity with sales tactics, marketing concepts, and business/financial terminology.
• Global perspective and experience supporting international customers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) desired.
