Senior Application Engineer - Digital Multi-Phase Controller

Role Summary

Engineer responsible for validating, characterizing, and supporting digitally enabled multi-phase DC/DC controller products for customer deployments. Works with product engineering, firmware, R&D, and marketing to convert customer requirements into product features, documentation, and engineering feedback.

Experience Level

Senior-level engineer with substantial hands-on experience in power-management product validation and customer support.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include product validation, customer support, and documentation.

• Plan and execute validation and characterization tests to demonstrate performance, robustness, and fit to customer use-cases.
• Develop test plans, automate bench measurements (Python/C), analyze results, and produce concise technical reports.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, R&D, Firmware, and Marketing to translate customer requirements into product features and roadmap input.
• Create and review customer-facing collateral: datasheets, application notes, user guides, design guidelines, and troubleshooting FAQs.
• Support silicon bring-up and customer configuration (GUI/firmware/PMBus), including loop compensation guidance, sequencing, and telemetry setup.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with digitally enabled power-management products.
• Understanding and practical application of control-loop theory for power converters.
• Proficiency with lab equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators; experience automating lab testing.
• Proficiency in Python and C (or similar) for test automation and analysis.
• Familiarity with PMBus, AVS, and other power-management protocols.
• Data analysis skills using Excel, JMP, or equivalent tools.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Nice to have: experience specifically with multiphase DC/DC converters.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree plus ~5 years' relevant experience, or Master's degree plus ~3 years' relevant experience in Engineering or a technical field related to power management. Preferred: higher experience levels (e.g., BS+8 or MS+5). Equivalent practical experience in the power-management industry is acceptable.
