Senior Application Engineer (DFT)

Role Summary

Support customers in adopting and deploying Tessent DFT tools and methodologies for complex ASIC designs. Work as part of a technical sales/consulting team to implement and verify DFT features inside customer ASIC products and enable customers to use Tessent capabilities effectively.

The role is customer-facing and combines technical consulting, DFT implementation, and collaboration with product engineering to influence solution direction.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer support, DFT flow deployment, and cross-team collaboration.

• Consult with customers to define technical requirements and deliver Tessent-based DFT solutions.
• Implement and deploy DFT flows centered on Tessent tools and enable customer adoption of the toolset and methodologies.
• Verify and debug DFT features within customer ASIC designs; provide hands-on support during integration.
• Communicate customer needs and influence product engineering and roadmap where required.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure project success.

• Must-have: Practical ASIC Design-for-Test experience (MBIST, IJTAG, Boundary Scan, Scan, ATPG).
• Must-have: Experience with embedded compression techniques and a strong overall understanding of ASIC design.
• Must-have: Proficiency with Tcl scripting and the ability to perform hands-on DFT implementation and debugging.
• Must-have: Strong customer communication and consulting skills; ability to map customer requirements to technical solutions.
• Nice-to-have: DFT architecture and methodology development experience.
• Nice-to-have: RTL design experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS) or equivalent practical experience. A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred. Equivalent technical experience is acceptable where indicated.
