Job Title
Senior Analog Validation Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Analog Validation Engineer is responsible for planning and executing comprehensive validation of analog circuitry across platform(s). The role builds parametric validation plans, implements automated measurement sequences, analyzes results versus electrical specifications, and prepares instrumentation, boards, and scripts before silicon arrives.
The role works cross-functionally with Design, Product, Test Engineering, Applications, Software, and Product Analysis teams to debug IP-level issues and deliver concise validation reports.
Experience Level
Senior β requires a minimum of 12 years of industry experience in analog validation, test, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining validation plans, automating measurements, and reporting results.
- Develop parametric validation plans from electrical specifications.
- Write software to configure the device under test (DUT) for required test cases.
- Create hardware automation sequences to perform parametric measurements across process, voltage, temperature (PVT), and DUT configurations.
- Analyze parametric data to determine pass/fail/margin against specifications and generate summary reports.
- Ensure instrumentation, test scripts, and validation boards are prepared prior to silicon arrival.
- Interface with Design, Product, Test, Applications, Software, and Product Analysis teams to debug IP-related issues.
- Research and recommend lab hardware and instrumentation required for measurements.
- Generate hardware design requirements and participate in schematic and layout reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- Minimum 12 years of industry experience in analog validation, test engineering, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed/RF lab equipment: oscilloscopes, BER testers, vector network analyzers, and phase-noise analyzers.
- Proficient in C programming; experience developing test automation and DUT configuration software.
- Data analysis experience using Excel, JMP, and/or Power BI.
- Experience debugging hardware setups and reading schematics.
- Ability to design automated hardware test sequences and integrate software and measurement systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for silicon, board, and software interactions.
- Nice-to-have: TestStand and Python experience; familiarity with SerDes validation and Ethernet (IEEE 802.3); experience using AI prompting for code generation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting specifies these degrees with a minimum of 12 years of industry experience.
