Senior Analog Physical Design Engineer (Kilby Labs)
Role Summary
Lead analog physical design efforts in Kilby Labs to develop test and production dies. Work closely with design, PDK, ATD and packaging teams to deliver layouts from floorplanning through fabrication and verification.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical leadership, detailed physical design, verification, and mentorship.
- Lead projects: define technical approach, schedules, and resource assignments.
- Perform floorplanning and manage circuit layouts from concept to tape-out.
- Conduct layout reviews and ensure verification and specification closure.
- Collaborate with packaging teams to develop custom lead-frames and support mechanical integration.
- Work with ATD and PDK teams on new process/device development and automated Pcell generation.
- Analyze and mitigate electromigration, thermal gradients, and parasitics; identify ESD and latch-up issues.
- Provide back-annotation support and mentor contract layout engineers to meet quality and schedule expectations.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience.

Must-have: 8+ years of hands-on experience in analog physical layout and verification; expertise in layout techniques for power, RF, and sensors.

Must-have: Experience analyzing electromigration, thermal effects, parasitics, ESD and latch-up; providing back-annotation support.

Must-have: Proven ability to lead projects, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers across geographies.

Must-have: Experience with automated generation tools such as Pcell Designer and working with PDK/ATD teams.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with TI process nodes (lbc, CMOS, BiCMOS, GaN).

Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence Allegro, TOTEM, database management, caps execution, and JUMP updates.

Nice-to-have: Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (specified in the posting).
