Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal Layout Engineer - SERDES
Role Summary
Join the IO & PHY group to develop and deliver physical layout designs for analog/mixed-signal blocks and macros, with emphasis on SERDES. Work closely with architecture, IP design, and physical-design teams to achieve first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting prefers candidates with 8+ years of hands-on layout experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on layout implementation, quality delivery, and mentoring.
- Implement layout for blocks and macros, including high-speed SERDES where applicable.
- Own and deliver high-quality macros to schedule and specification.
- Collaborate with architecture, IP design, verification, and physical-design teams to ensure first-pass silicon success.
- Mentor and groom junior engineers on the team.
- Coordinate with contractor teams and manage planned work against schedules.
- Enable and support release flows and required sign-off/verification steps.
Requirements
Must-have skills and technologies, plus preferred experience.
- Hands-on analog/mixed-signal layout experience and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and layout verification tools such as Calibre.
- Experience collaborating with multiple functional teams (architecture, IP, physical design, verification).
- Ability to own deliverables and meet schedule commitments.
- Experience mentoring less-experienced engineers.
- Preferred: 8+ years of layout design experience and prior work on high-speed SERDES blocks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or equivalent practical experience.
