Job Title

Senior Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from concept through silicon validation and production. The role spans system architecture, transistor-level circuit design, simulation and optimization, and laboratory bring-up for products on silicon-photonics platforms.

Work within cross-functional teams to integrate mixed-signal blocks into larger systems and own deliverables through tapeout and post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and silicon validation of analog/mixed-signal IC blocks.

  • Design data converters (ADC/DAC), amplifiers (LNA, TIA, op-amps), bandgap references, biasing circuits, and regulators.
  • Define system architecture and drive trade-offs across noise, linearity, power, area, and bandwidth.
  • Perform transistor-level design, SPICE simulation, optimization, and post-layout sign-off (PVT, Monte Carlo, corner analysis).
  • Develop behavioral models (Verilog-A / SystemVerilog RNM) for system-level verification and architectural exploration.
  • Collaborate with layout, digital, and verification teams to ensure parasitic-aware designs and robust mixed-signal integration.
  • Lead silicon bring-up, debug, and lab characterization; support tapeout and bench validation.
  • Produce clear design documentation, participate in design reviews, and drive work to completion under tight timelines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Strong fundamentals in analog circuit design and device physics.
  • Proven experience designing and taping out analog or mixed-signal ICs in CMOS or SiGe processes.
  • Proficiency with SPICE-based simulators (e.g., Spectre, HSPICE) and transistor-level simulation workflows.
  • Deep understanding of noise, mismatch, stability, and nonlinearity; ability to balance trade-offs.
  • Ability to design from first principles and solve complex circuit problems creatively.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage corners, Monte Carlo runs, and large design spaces.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results on schedule.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with data converters, RF/analog front-ends, or high-speed interfaces.
  • Hands-on silicon validation, lab debugging, layout, and tapeout experience.
  • Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso and behavioral modeling (Verilog-A, SystemVerilog RNM).
  • Experience with advanced process nodes (FinFET or beyond).

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
