Job Title
Senior Analog Layout Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for block-to-top-level physical implementation and tape-out signoff for high-precision analog/mixed-signal products. Works on floorplanning, package implementation and top-level integration within the layout team.
Collaborates with circuit designers and verification teams to ensure manufacturable, high-performance layouts and mentors junior layout engineers.
Experience Level
Senior β the posting specifies a senior role; guidance indicates 5+ years' experience in analog/mixed-signal layout roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include physical design, verification, and project coordination for analog products.
- Perform block-to-top-level layout design: floor planning, package implementation, and top-level integration for high-precision analog products.
- Run and resolve physical verification checks including DRC, LVS, antenna, and other signoff checks required for tape-out.
- Apply physical layout techniques to optimize matching, reduce parasitics and layout-dependent effects (LDE), and address ESD and latch-up concerns.
- Implement noise isolation, power/clock planning, DFM-compliant layouts, and address IR drop and EM issues.
- Manage layout schedules and resource allocation; guide and review work from junior layout engineers.
- Coordinate with cross-site/global teams and package designers as needed; support tape-out flow.
- Travel as required for the role (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Technical must-haves and preferred skills for candidates.
Must-have:
- Proven analog/mixed-signal layout experience, including full-chip/block-level layout, place & route coordination, and floor planning.
- Practical experience with physical verification flows (DRC, LVS, antenna checks) and signoff procedures.
- Strong understanding of device structures and circuit topologies used in DACs, ADCs, LDOs, bandgaps, and amplifiers, with emphasis on high-precision designs.
- Solid knowledge of foundry processes, device matching, shielding techniques, ESD/latch-up mitigation, device isolation, EM and IR drop analysis.
- Ability to improve project performance through layout techniques and parasitic-aware design.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Extensive experience with top-level layout design and successful tape-outs.
- Familiarity with IC package design and package-level implementation.
- Experience working with global or cross-site engineering teams; strong teamwork and result orientation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher, or an equivalent degree in an EE-related field is specified; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. (The posting pairs the degree expectation with senior-level experience.)
