Job Title

Senior Analog IC Design Engineer — High‑Speed Links & Advanced Analog Circuits

Role Summary

Design advanced analog integrated circuits for ultra-high-speed interconnects and related precision analog blocks. The role focuses on circuit-level design, simulation, and integration of CTLEs, VGAs, PLLs, regulators and SERDES-related analog functions for 100s-of-Gbps links.

Work within a cross-functional engineering team on architecture, performance optimization, and verification in advanced SiGe and CMOS processes.

Experience Level

Senior. Industry experience guidance: Ph.D. +3 years relevant industry experience, or M.S. +5 years relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on analog circuit design, simulation, and cross-team integration.

  • Design analog IC blocks: CTLEs, VGAs, SERDES front-end functions, PLLs, regulators, and other high-speed analog circuits.
  • Perform schematic capture and layout for advanced SiGe and CMOS processes.
  • Analyze high-frequency behavior including parasitics, coupling, EM effects, and transmission-line interactions.
  • Use Cadence tools, EMX, and Calibre for design, simulation, and verification flows.
  • Collaborate with digital, package, board, and systems engineers to integrate analog blocks into system-level architectures.
  • Participate in design reviews and optimize circuits for performance, yield, and robustness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience for immediate contribution.

  • Proven hands-on experience designing analog IC blocks for high-speed applications (DC to tens of GHz).
  • Experience with schematic and layout design in advanced SiGe and CMOS technologies.
  • Strong high-frequency analysis skills: parasitics, EM coupling, transmission-line effects, signal integrity at RF/fast-edge domains.
  • Proficiency in Cadence design and simulation tools; experience with EMX and Calibre for verification.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate technical trade-offs, and work in fast-paced project environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and multitasking skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Unix/SKILL scripting experience and prior SERDES or system-level integration experience.

Education Requirements

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Field: Electrical Engineering (analog/RF/IC design) or closely related technical disciplines. No specific certifications required; equivalent industry experience aligned with the stated degree/experience combinations may be considered.
