Senior Analog Engineer
RenesasJob Title
Senior Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Analog Engineer on the Analog Design team responsible for designing, simulating, verifying, and developing high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for automotive, industrial, and power-management products.
The role collaborates with layout, validation, and cross-functional global teams to bring analog IP from transistor-level design through silicon validation and product qualification.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Specific years-of-experience were not stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
The candidate will own transistor-level design and drive block-level analog functional and physical implementation through silicon validation and qualification.
- Perform transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and optimization for analog and mixed-signal blocks.
- Define and implement block-level architectures: precision references, bias circuits, op amps, comparators, LDO regulators, oscillators, timing circuits, and data-converter support circuits.
- Support IC floorplanning and work closely with layout engineers to ensure robust analog layout.
- Analyze silicon measurement results, perform lab evaluation, and iterate designs based on test data.
- Support product qualification, characterization, and reliability testing activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary, geographically distributed engineering teams.
Requirements
Key technical and interpersonal requirements. Must-have items are listed first; preferred items follow.
- Must-have: Deep understanding of CMOS device physics and analog circuit fundamentals.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and standard circuit simulation flows.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge of semiconductor process technologies and reliability considerations.
- Must-have: Strong technical documentation and verbal communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional global teams.
- Preferred: Experience with GaN device applications and driver design.
- Preferred: Experience with isolated IC design methodologies and high-voltage power-management circuits.
- Preferred: Prior work on automotive or industrial analog IP and product qualification.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering preferred. B.S. in Electrical Engineering may be acceptable with equivalent demonstrated technical expertise or equivalent practical experience.
