Senior Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Automotive Networking design team in Hyderabad to design and deliver high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for wired automotive connectivity (including Ethernet PHYs and related blocks).

You will own complex transistor-level circuit blocks through specification, implementation, verification, and silicon bring-up, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on tape-out, qualification, and production release.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of relevant analog or mixed-signal IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and deliver complex transistor-level analog or mixed-signal blocks (amplifiers, data converters, line drivers/receivers, references, clocking, power-management, interfaces).
• Translate product/system requirements into block specifications and contribute to architecture and performance budgeting.
• Perform schematic design and simulation: PVT, Monte Carlo, noise, stability, transient, and post-layout analyses; identify and resolve integration and reliability issues.
• Collaborate with layout engineers on floorplanning, matching, parasitics, isolation, signal integrity, and electromigration; review extracted results and drive closure.
• Prepare designs for review and tape-out; support silicon bring-up, lab characterization, debug, production test, qualification, and yield improvement.
• Work with systems, digital, verification, process, test, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams to meet product objectives.
• Evaluate trade-offs among performance, power, area, cost, schedule, reliability, EMC, and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, document decisions/results, and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

• Typically 5+ years of relevant analog or mixed-signal IC design experience.
• Proven ability to independently own complex analog or mixed-signal circuit blocks from specification through layout review and tape-out support.
• Strong knowledge of transistor-level analog design, CMOS device behavior, feedback, noise, matching, variability, reliability, and circuit trade-offs.
• Hands-on design experience in one or more areas: amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, line interfaces, references, regulators, clock-generation, filters, or power-distribution functions.
• Proficiency with industry-standard IC design and simulation tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre or equivalent).
• Good understanding of analog layout techniques and ability to collaborate effectively with layout engineers.
• Experience supporting IC tape-out and subsequent silicon bring-up, measurement, debug, or simulation-to-silicon correlation.
• Strong problem-solving, technical communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with automotive Ethernet PHY circuits, wired automotive transceivers, or high-speed communication architectures.
• Familiarity with automotive functional-safety, qualification, reliability, EMC, or ESD requirements applied to IC development.
• Experience with behavioral modeling, mixed-signal verification, digitally assisted analog techniques, or system-level performance budgeting.
• Evidence of technical innovation such as reusable design methods, patents, publications, or successful silicon solutions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
