Senior Analog Design Engineer
SynopsysJob Title
Senior Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of medium-to-large complexity analog circuits for high-speed SerDes IP, focusing on performance, power, area, and silicon correlation. Work within a global analog and mixed-signal R&D team developing SerDes for advanced FinFET/GAA process nodes.
Experience Level
Senior - expects an experienced engineer. The posting indicates senior-level candidates with multi-year experience (guidance: 6β8+ years depending on degree).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on design, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration.
- Design and develop medium-to-large complexity analog circuits for high-speed SerDes supporting Ethernet and PCIe.
- Guide and mentor analog designers; lead design reviews and follow up on improvements.
- Plan analog design activities, set milestones, and define project execution methods.
- Collaborate with layout teams to evaluate and minimize parasitic effects and optimize PPA (performance, power, area).
- Validate silicon correlation with simulation and ensure design robustness.
- Engage with cross-functional, global R&D teams to integrate analog and mixed-signal designs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; plus a few desirable items.
- Proven CMOS analog design experience with hands-on work on ADCs, DACs, PLLs, Rx/Tx front-ends, references, or similar blocks.
- Experience coordinating design activities across teams and delivering medium-complexity designs.
- Familiarity with industry-standard IC design flows and EDA tools.
- Experience working in UNIX environments and using related toolchains and scripts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to lead reviews and document designs.
- Mentoring experience and ability to train less-experienced engineers.
- Nice-to-have: system-level SerDes architecture knowledge and experience with advanced process nodes (FinFET/GAA).
Education Requirements
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience (degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field specified).
