Senior Algorithm Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the core "Vision Engine" that runs KLA's inspection tools, developing high-performance computer-vision and algorithmic solutions that combine software with embedded and off-the-shelf hardware. The role focuses on delivering reliable inspection flows used across product, applications, and field teams, with some work in machine learning and analytics.

Senior-level; posting states 3–5 years of relevant engineering or software experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include development, integration, and support of vision and inspection software.
- Design and implement algorithms and software for visual inspection based on customer requirements and data.
- Integrate algorithms with embedded and off-the-shelf hardware to deliver production-ready solutions.
- Improve and maintain the in-house hybrid development environment and tooling.
- Collaborate with other software teams to validate and deploy inspection flows in machines.
- Support field engineers and applications teams across the full vision-system workflow.
- Occasional travel to customer sites for support and insight gathering.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
- Proven experience programming in C/C++ with code profiling and refactoring skills.
- Experience developing and debugging on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python), version control systems, and Makefiles.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and effective communication/teamwork.
- Proficient in English.
- Nice-to-have: container experience (e.g., Podman) and familiarity with computer vision or ML frameworks.
Education Requirements
Background in Engineering or Computer Science is requested (e.g., Bachelor's degree) or equivalent practical experience; the posting specifies 3–5 years of related experience as an alternative to degree-level detail.
