Role Summary

Develop and maintain tools, libraries and frameworks to deploy and optimize neural network models on embedded and mobile devices. Work in the AI Software R&D team to deliver runtime libraries, SDK components and deployment tooling that enable audio, vision, generative and language models on constrained platforms.

Collaborate with international teams and contribute to open-source projects and hardware/software co-development for AI accelerators. Position is based in Brno within NXP's AI Software R&D organization.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

• Design and implement tools and libraries (primarily Python, also C++) for deploying and optimizing neural networks on embedded and mobile devices.
• Develop and maintain runtime frameworks and SDK components for AI on constrained platforms.
• Enable and optimize audio, vision, generative AI and language models for mobile/embedded targets.
• Implement proofs-of-concept, evaluate new research and prototype novel solutions.
• Contribute to relevant open-source projects (e.g., PyTorch) and company OSS initiatives.
• Co-develop software interfaces to AI accelerator hardware and support integration/testing.
• Support and maintain critical software systems and meet delivery goals and deadlines.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: Strong Python skills and familiarity with software engineering best practices (testing, version control, CI/CD).
• Must-have: Ability to work in English within distributed international teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with C/C++ or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) or compiler/optimization technologies.
• Experience developing for embedded or mobile targets and optimizing models for constrained hardware is desirable.
• Willingness to contribute to open-source and to participate in research/prototype activities.
• Ability to handle security-related tasks and follow processes required for security certifications.
• Valid visa and work permit to work in the Czech Republic (required at application stage).
