Senior AI Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Remote senior field application engineer on Ceva's Americas sales team supporting pre-sales technical engagements, customer evaluations, and post-sales integration of Ceva Neural Processing Unit (NPU) IP. Collaborates with global R&D, corporate application engineers, and the US sales team to enable customer adoption and optimize solutions.
Experience Level
Senior. Requires 6+ years of experience in AI/ML development and system or SoC architecture for AI workloads.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical evangelism, driving customer evaluations, and enabling customer integration and deployment of Ceva AI products.
- Promote Ceva AI/ML products and address technical questions during pre-sales.
- Assess customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate AI solutions.
- Drive and manage customer evaluations in collaboration with Sales and R&D.
- Assist with integration of Ceva NPU IP and provide technical training and support.
- Optimize customer designs for performance, power, and area when integrating IP.
- Support sales and business development to penetrate accounts and identify leads.
- Build and maintain relationships with customer technical teams and management.
- Track customer project and technical information and report status to internal teams.
- Travel frequently within the US and occasionally internationally; work across US-Europe time zones.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and work requirements.
Must-have:
- 6+ years of AI/ML development experience, including system architecture for neural networks such as CNNs, Transformers, and LLMs.
- Experience with advanced processing architectures (VLIW, SIMD/Vector, heterogeneous compute) and optimizing AI workloads.
- SoC design experience focused on deep learning accelerators, TPUs, FPGAs, or custom AI ASICs.
- Algorithm development experience for model optimization (quantization, pruning, compression).
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills; collaborative and goal-oriented.
- Self-driven problem solver able to work independently and drive issues to closure.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the US and internationally a few times per year.
- Flexibility to work across time zones.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (EAD or equivalent).
Nice-to-have:
- 10+ years of experience in complex system architecture and SoC design.
- Prior experience in field application engineer (FAE) or application engineer (AE) roles.
- Knowledge of DSP applications in consumer electronics such as cellular, 5G, wireless, voice, and audio.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field (BS/MS EE or equivalent) is required.
