Job Title

Senior Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Own device and process integration workstreams for advanced CMOS technology development supporting memory products. Collaborate with Process Engineering, Circuit Design, Layout, Reliability, Manufacturing, Yield, and Modeling teams to define requirements, plan silicon learning, resolve device issues, and transfer technologies into high-volume manufacturing.

This role uses AI-assisted analytics and automated data pipelines to accelerate development; AI supports but does not replace engineering judgment and accountability.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies a senior-level engineering role (no explicit years-of-experience stated).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include ownership of device/process integration, planning and executing silicon experiments, and driving cross-functional technical decisions.

  • Own development and optimization of selected CMOS devices, modules, or integration workstreams.
  • Translate product and circuit requirements into device, process, and electrical performance targets.
  • Develop and execute silicon learning plans, design of experiments, and technology optimization strategies.
  • Analyze electrical, physical, process, yield, and reliability data to find root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive improvements in device performance, leakage, variability, reliability, process margin, yield, and cost.
  • Lead transistor model validation and coordinate corrective actions with Modeling/TCAD and Circuit teams.
  • Define electrical test structures, parametric test content, process control monitors, and characterization requirements.
  • Evaluate design rule and process integration trade-offs with Design, Layout, Process, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Resolve complex device/process interactions using structured problem-solving methods and lead technical reviews.
  • Support technology transfer, qualification, ramp, and high-volume manufacturing activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on experiments, data analysis, and problem solving.
  • Develop, validate, and deploy AI-assisted workflows for data mining, anomaly detection, experiment planning, and engineering knowledge capture while ensuring responsible use and technical validation of AI outputs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Sufficient understanding of CMOS transistor physics and semiconductor process integration.
  • Experience in CMOS device development, process integration, electrical characterization, technology qualification, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan experiments, analyze silicon data, and solve complex technical problems with data-driven methods.
  • Experience with test structure design, parametric testing, device characterization, and process monitoring.
  • Strong technical communication and presentation skills; ability to influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead technical reviews and communicate recommendations, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.

Nice-to-have / preferred.

  • Experience developing FinFET or other advanced CMOS devices (Nanosheet, lateral/vertical GAA, Forksheet, CFET).
  • Experience with DRAM peripheral CMOS, memory-array support circuits, or memory technology co-optimization.
  • Experience with TCAD simulation, compact model validation, SPICE model application, or DTCO.
  • Demonstrated experience improving yield, process margin, reliability, or manufacturing cost.
  • Experience creating automated data-analysis pipelines or AI-assisted engineering workflows and mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional technical projects.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field is listed as the preferred credential. A BS with substantial semiconductor industry experience may be considered; equivalent practical industry experience is accepted.
