Senior ADC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the architecture and implementation of high-performance ADCs for advanced CMOS processes, driving designs from specification through test-chips to qualification and production. The role sits on the mixed-signal design team based in Zeist (Utrecht region), Netherlands and requires close collaboration with Analog Front-End, Layout, DSP, Digital, Firmware, System teams and FAEs.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial experience. The posting specifies at least 8 years of ADC design experience in advanced CMOS nodes.
Responsibilities
Work across the full ADC design cycle and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Define ADC architecture and detailed specifications to meet performance and efficiency targets.
- Perform circuit design, simulation, and verification for ADC building blocks.
- Plan, implement and evaluate test-chips; lead silicon bring-up and characterization.
- Drive qualification and production handoff activities.
- Collaborate with AFE, Layout, DSP, Digital, Firmware, System, Marketing and FAEs to meet system-level requirements.
- Document designs, test results, and contribute to design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team process improvements.
Requirements
Key technical and professional requirements (must-haves followed by desirable skills).
- Minimum 8+ years experience in ADC design in advanced CMOS processes (must-have).
- Practical experience in mixed-signal IC design teams and working with cross-discipline engineers (must-have).
- Familiarity with RTL/Verilog, and scripting or software tools such as C++ and Python (preferable).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in an international team (must-have).
- Fluent English (must-have).
- Located in or willing to relocate to the Netherlands (Utrecht/Zeist area) (must-have).
- Experience with Ethernet AFEs or automotive networking analog front-ends (nice-to-have).
Education Requirements
Master's (MSc) or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) is specified.
