Semiconductor Package Competence Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Act as Package Architect responsible for the functionality and performance of semiconductor packages. Work with global development and production partners to provide package expertise, manage requirements, and support product roadmaps.

Collect customer needs and market benchmarking, propose technical solutions, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Preferably first relevant experience; educational credentials are an important factor.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead package architecture to ensure package functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with global package and assembly development teams and production partners.
• Gather technical customer requirements, market trends and benchmarking data.
• Define and manage package requirements and maintain roadmaps aligned to product strategy.
• Propose and validate innovative packaging solutions.
• Provide package expertise across Business Group functions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

• Strong architectural thinking, critical judgement and structured problem solving.
• Technical leadership mindset; energetic and result-driven.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in global, intercultural teams.
• Business fluent English (written and spoken); German language skills are a strong plus.
• Experience with thermomechanical simulation is a plus.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Semiconductor Packaging, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
