Semiconductor Device Development Engineer
Role Summary
Work on wafer process and device development for automotive and AI-targeted semiconductor products. The role spans device structure design, wafer process flow development, device measurement/evaluation, and mass-production ramp.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process technology, product design, quality assurance) to establish manufacturable processes and maximize product value.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Guidance: at least 1 year of experience in semiconductor device structure design or process development is expected; candidates with limited direct experience who demonstrate strong motivation and rapid learning potential may be considered.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical development from concept through production and cross-functional coordination.
- Develop wafer processes from concept and prototyping to mass-production technology transfer and ramp.
- Design device structures and define wafer process flows.
- Plan and execute device electrical and physical measurements; analyze results to drive improvements.
- Work with process, product design, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and ensure manufacturability.
- Support test element (TEG) planning and production yield improvement activities.
Requirements
Must-have vs nice-to-have skills and experience.
- Must-have: At least 1 year of experience in semiconductor device structure design or wafer process development, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must-have: Basic knowledge of semiconductor physics and practical wafer process prototyping experience.
- Must-have: Ability to work cross-functionally from design through production and to communicate technical issues clearly.
- Also valued: Willingness to learn and grow toward a senior-level device engineer.
- Nice-to-have: Wafer-level electrical measurement skills (using wafer tester / prober).
- Nice-to-have: TEG (Test Element Group) layout design experience.
