Semiconductor Device Characterization Engineer

Role Summary

This role is responsible for leading advanced semiconductor device characterization and lab infrastructure development across various technology platforms including power, RF, ULP, and photonics. The engineer will design and execute complex electrical tests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level; requires 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in semiconductor engineering or a similar occupation.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing complex electrical tests such as DC/CV, flicker noise, S-parameter, load pull, and dynamic RdsOn.
  • Driving automation and tool optimization to enhance lab throughput and data quality.
  • Collaborating with design, reliability, and technology development teams.
  • Developing standard operating procedures and mentoring lab personnel.
  • Managing vendor relationships for tool calibration and upgrades.
  • Enabling new test capabilities and improving operational efficiency.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 2 years in semiconductor device characterization, including:
    • HEMT device characterization.
    • Cryogenic modeling.
    • Complex RF testing.
    • Establishing new test methodologies.
    • Lab documentation and SOP development.
    • Understanding semiconductor physics and devices.
    • Technical report preparation.
    • Alignment between global Central Service Labs.
    • Contribution to NextGen technology development.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related field of study.
