Security Software Development Engineer
Role Summary
Join Intel's Platform Security Technology Engineering (PSTE) team to develop and validate security features for Intel processors. The role focuses on software-hardware validation, using pre-silicon simulation and advanced validation tools to ensure security and product correctness.
The engineer will work on complex SW-HW projects, perform security analysis, identify risks, and implement mitigations to improve platform resilience.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 2–3 years of hands-on software development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, validating, and debugging software components tied to processor security features.
- Collaborate on development and validation of complex software-hardware projects.
- Use pre-silicon simulations and validation frameworks to verify system behavior against specifications.
- Perform security analysis, identify risks, and design/implement mitigations.
- Develop and execute tests, debug issues, and improve validation coverage using advanced methodologies and tools.
- Work with CI/CD workflows, version control, and software debugging tools to maintain code quality.
- Document findings and communicate results with cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong programming skills in C or C++.
- 2–3 years of hands-on software development experience including design, implementation, debugging, and testing.
- Familiarity with object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Experience with software debugging tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in Linux/Unix environments (development, scripting, debugging).
- Experience with Specman or thread/memory sanitizers.
- Knowledge of Python.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
