SCG ArchDesign Engineer - New College Grad 2027
NVIDIAJob Title
SCG ArchDesign Engineer - New College Grad 2027
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group to design and run prototype experiments that reveal silicon behavior (power, performance, noise, margin, binning) and convert results into reusable pipelines and inputs for architecture, firmware, and manufacturing.
This is a cross-functional role that requires hands-on prototype bring-up, experiment design, data analysis pipelines, and clear documentation so other teams can repeat and act on results.
Experience Level
Entry-level / New college graduate. The posting requests 2+ years of related engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Execute prototype-based experimentation and deliver data products that inform architecture, firmware, and manufacturing decisions.
- Develop and run silicon co-design prototypes and measurement setups from bring-up to repeatable experiments.
- Plan and execute design of experiments (DOE): select factors/ranges, define sample plans and success criteria, and analyze main effects and interactions.
- Build Python data pipelines and analyses to convert prototype, DOE, simulation, and characterization data into traces, summaries, and inputs for tuning and specs.
- Partner with architecture, design, validation, and firmware to add debug hooks, iterate prototypes, and document validated conclusions.
- Use secure, traceable, AI-assisted workflows with human oversight for any conclusions that affect limits, bins, or specs.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required; education details are listed separately below.
- 2+ years in silicon validation, characterization, productization, or engineering-tools roles (SoC, GPU, CPU, or similar).
- Working knowledge of silicon speed/power/quality concepts (DVFS, Vmin/Fmax, shmoo, PDN/noise, binning, guardband).
- Hands-on experience with lab or post-silicon bring-up, characterization campaigns, manufacturing test/limits, or data pipelines that consume chip data.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation; familiarity with Git and structured testing/regression workflows.
- Ability to convert ambiguous silicon questions into measurable experiments and produce clear, executable documentation.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis while maintaining technical rigor and human judgment.
Nice-to-have
- SQL or lightweight dashboard experience.
- Experience running test-chips, prototypes, or characterization DOEs and iterating experimental matrices.
- Experience shipping internal tools, dashboards, or data pipelines used by other teams.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs in engineering workflows (agents, RAG, evaluation) and debugging unsafe or incorrect outputs.
- Exposure to firmware/BIOS parameters, eFuse/limits, or ATE/SLT screening and SKU linkage.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
