Scalable Design Solutions – Cloud Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Develop GenAI-enabled, cloud-hosted web applications for semiconductor design workflows. Build frontend interfaces, backend services, and deployment pipelines that integrate AI orchestration systems to provide production-ready user experiences on AWS.

Work with GenAI/AI engineers, CAD and design teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain applications used by semiconductor developers and designers.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant industry experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s); substantial experience delivering web applications and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

Responsible for delivering and operating cloud-hosted applications that integrate AI orchestration and semiconductor design tools.

• Deploy and manage web applications on AWS using containers (Docker, ECS), serverless (Lambda), and orchestration tools.
• Build backend APIs and services integrating AI orchestration, batch execution software, EDA tools, and databases.
• Develop web interfaces for interacting with AI workflows, visualizing data, and surfacing insights.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and application lifecycle management.
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure, security controls, authentication/authorization, and role-based access control.
• Create dashboards and reporting for workflow monitoring and performance tracking.
• Monitor production performance, optimize AWS resource usage, and troubleshoot incidents.
• Collaborate with GenAI/AI engineers to integrate orchestration systems into deployable applications.
• Follow Agile methodologies, document solutions, and deliver on OKRs and milestones.
• Support EHSS requirements and provide training and documentation for application adoption.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.

• 8+ years web application development experience; at least 5 years focused on cloud infrastructure and deployment.
• Strong experience with AWS services and application deployment (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Proficiency in backend development with Python frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and production troubleshooting skills; ability to balance deployment velocity with reliability.

Nice-to-have:

• Frontend experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Experience deploying or integrating AI/ML applications and familiarity with AWS ML/GenAI services (SageMaker, Bedrock).
• Kubernetes (EKS) or advanced orchestration experience.
• Monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana).
• Experience in semiconductor, CAD, or technical engineering domains; data visualization and dashboard libraries.
• AWS certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies 8+ years experience with a Bachelor’s, or 6+ years with a Master’s; equivalent practical experience is implied. AWS certifications are listed as preferred.
