QualcommJob Title
RTL (NoC) Design - Sr Lead/Staff
Role Summary
Senior hardware engineer responsible for RTL design and implementation of Network-on-Chip (NoC) features. Works on planning, design, optimization, verification, test, and bring-up of complex digital/hardware subsystems within cross-functional SoC teams.
Experience Level
Senior level. The role expects experienced individual contributors and technical leaders; the posting indicates a preference for candidates with substantial prior hardware engineering experience (preferred ~8+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, integration, and production support for NoC/RTL hardware subsystems.
- Plan, design, optimize, verify, and test RTL for complex NoC and related hardware features.
- Integrate features into system-level designs to meet power, performance, and area targets.
- Perform detailed simulations and analyses; implement design trade-offs for PPA.
- Collaborate with verification, validation, software, architecture, and manufacturing teams to meet schedules and quality targets.
- Characterize and debug hardware at bring-up using lab instruments and test equipment.
- Evaluate reliability, manufacturability, and compliance issues; recommend mitigations.
- Produce detailed technical documentation and design reviews; provide guidance to other engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; degrees and formal education details are listed under Education Requirements below.
- Proven experience in hardware engineering with RTL design, verification, and bring-up for complex digital systems.
- Experience with circuit design and hands-on use of schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Familiarity with hardware measurement and debug equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, logic analyzers).
- Ability to work independently, make impactful technical decisions, and guide teammates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical information.
- Experience collaborating across design, software, and manufacturing teams to improve yield, test time, and quality.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FPGA or DSP systems and hardware bring-up automation.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing processes, reliability evaluation, and test optimization.
- Prior technical leadership or mentoring experience.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 3+ years of experience; OR PhD in those fields plus 2+ years of experience. Preferred: Master's degree. (The posting ties required years of experience to the level of degree.)
