RTL (IPA Design/WRD) - Sr Lead
Role Summary
Qualcomm WRD team is hiring a senior RTL design lead to develop microarchitecture and RTL for a Network Packet Processor IP used in SoCs. The role owns architecture and RTL implementation, coordinates across verification, implementation and post-silicon teams, and leads project planning and execution.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5–8+ years of front-end ASIC RTL design experience with demonstrated team leadership and SoC integration experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define microarchitecture and produce detailed specifications from high-level exploration to implementation.
- Own RTL development and refinement to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.
- Work with block designers, verification, implementation, and post-silicon teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.
- Debug cross-functional issues, propose workarounds, and recommend bug fixes.
- Lead and mentor engineers and drive overall project planning and execution.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5–8+ years front-end ASIC RTL design experience with strong micro-architecture expertise.
- Proficient in RTL coding: SystemVerilog / Verilog / VHDL.
- Hands-on SoC design and integration experience.
- Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB), SoC clocking/reset/debug architecture, and peripherals such as USB, PCIe, and SDCC.
- Experience with multi-clock designs, synthesis, and static timing analysis (STA).
- Knowledge of front-end tool flows (lint, CDC) and awareness of low-power and high-speed design techniques.
- Strong debugging, critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills; able to work with multi-geo teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree plus 2+ years; OR PhD plus 1+ year.
