RTL Feasibility Engineer, AI/ML Processors
QualcommJob Title
RTL Feasibility Engineer, AI/ML Processors
Role Summary
Work on microarchitecture and logic-design feasibility for Qualcomm AI/ML processors, providing early-cycle feedback on power, performance, and area (PPA) of proposed design features. The role interfaces with architects, micro-architects, and RTL designers to assess implementation constraints and tool flow readiness.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on early feasibility analysis and tool-driven evaluation of RTL designs.
- Provide quick PPA feasibility feedback on new design features to architects and logic designers.
- Perform logic synthesis, early static timing analysis (STA), and early power estimation.
- Evaluate design aspects from ISA and microarchitecture through RTL implementation.
- Use digital simulation, synthesis engines, and power-estimation tools to assess designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with EDA tools and implementation flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors; nice-to-have items noted where applicable.
- Must-have: Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell).
- Must-have: Familiarity with SystemVerilog and RTL design concepts.
- Must-have: Experience with Git or other revision-control systems.
- Must-have: Effective communication and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Must-have: Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with logic synthesis, STA, and power-analysis tools for ASIC/processor designs.
- Nice-to-have: Background in microarchitecture or AI/ML processor design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (as listed under minimum qualifications).
