Job Title
RTL Engineer (DFT Lead)
Role Summary
Lead the test and SoC front-end integration activities within the MCU organization, ensuring designs meet functional, performance, power, security and manufacturability targets.
The role heads a SoC Front End (FE) team, coordinates with systems, IP, DV, backend, DFT and flow teams, and drives SoC releases through to RTM.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 5+ years of relevant experience in SoC or subsystem design and integration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading SoC integration, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring delivered silicon meets quality and power targets.
- Lead a SoC Front End team to own SoC integration of a complex ARM-based SoC through RTM.
- Collaborate with systems, IP and DV teams to align on features, IP deliverables and schedules to meet product requirements.
- Engage with SoC system architects to ensure functional, performance, safety and security requirements are implemented correctly.
- Work with backend, DFT and flow teams to plan and execute SoC releases, including integration reviews and DV feedback.
- Drive LEC, LINT checks and CDC/RDC analysis to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Ensure correct implementation of power intent and perform Low-Power checks such as CLP.
- Act as primary SoC contact for IP teams and participate in integration and design verification reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, behaviors and responsibilities for successful candidates.
- Proven experience integrating SoCs and subsystems.
- Ability to analyze and understand system-level use cases, safety and security requirements.
- Experience with SoC power analysis and power optimization.
- Strong knowledge of advanced low-power design techniques.
- Familiarity with constraints development for physical design implementation and static timing analysis.
- Understanding of SoC debug architectures; Design-for-Debug and Design-for-Test experience is highly desirable.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven focus on delivery, drive to close project goals, and experience mentoring and developing engineers.
