Role Summary
Work on RTL and low-power hardware design for audio subsystems within Qualcomm's Hardware Engineering group in Bangalore. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, verifying, and testing power-aware RTL and supporting integration, bring-up, and production test activities.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: 2+ years in hardware engineering; preferred candidates often have 3+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Plan, design, verify, and test electronic systems with emphasis on RTL and power-related features for audio subsystems.
- Integrate features and functionality into hardware designs according to proposals or roadmaps.
- Conduct simulations and analyses to optimize power, performance, and area.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, and systems teams to implement requirements and testing solutions.
- Support product bring-up, evaluate and develop manufacturing/test solutions to improve yield and quality.
- Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques; introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Write detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Practical hardware engineering experience involving RTL, power design, or ASIC/SoC components.
- Experience with circuit design and analysis (digital, analog, or RF).
- Proficiency with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
- Experience using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF tools for measurement and validation.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and document technical work clearly.
- Problem-solving skills related to reliability, yield, and test-time improvements.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in audio subsystem design or low-power design methodology.
- Familiarity with FPGA bring-up, DSP systems, or manufacturing/test process development.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
